🌑 New Moon: Planting the Seeds of Intention

Create a calming New Moon ritual using crystals, scent, and candlelight. Learn how to set intentions with Moonstone, Obsidian, and Moonlit Grove Apothecary’s fragrance blends.

The Seed: Quiet of the Dark Moon

The New Moon marks the beginning of the lunar cycle—a sacred space of stillness, inward reflection, and limitless possibility. It is a time to sit in the dark, to listen deeply, and to plant the seeds of what you wish to bring to life. Candle rituals offer a tangible way to honor this energetic reset, creating both clarity and sacred pause.

Candle/Wax Melt Intention Steps

  1. Cleanse Your Space

Before you begin, take a few minutes to energetically cleanse the area. Open a window, lightly mist a room spray, or ring a bell. You’re clearing space both externally and internally.

  1. Ground & Center

Sit comfortably with your candle or wax melt nearby. Take three slow breaths. Visualize your energy dropping down into the earth beneath you. Let yourself arrive.

  1. Light Your Candle/Turn Your Warmer On

As you strike the match and bring flame to wick or turn the warmer on, say aloud or whisper:
“I call in light to guide this new beginning.”

  1. Connect with Infused Crystals

Sit near your candle or wax melt for a moment. Reflect on the energies it carries—each one carefully crafted with scent and crystal synergy to support your New Moon intentions:

  • Moonlit GroveEarthy and grounding. Infused with crystals that foster intuition & spiritual guidance, self-love & emotional healing and stability & connection to nature. Ideal for quiet clarity and heart-centered beginnings.
  • Earthen ApothecaryHerbal and rooted. Infused with crystals to ground & balance and provide courage & clarity. Supports confidence, grounded decision-making, and aligned action.
  • JasmineSoft floral and tranquil. Infused with crystals the align with intuition & new cycles and support emotional renewal & hope. Perfect for gentle intentions, emotional healing, and fresh starts.

Let the scent and crystal synergy guide your breath and focus as you prepare to write your intention.

  1. Write Your Intention

On paper, write down your intentions clearly and positively. Focus on what you want to cultivate, not what you’re lacking. Example:
“I welcome clarity and creative inspiration for my next chapter.”

  1. Seal with Your Heart

Fold your intention note (fold towards you for intentions you want to come to you, fold away for intentions you are seeking to release) and hold it near your heart. Say:
“As the moon begins anew, so do I.”

  1. Sit in the Glow

Meditate in candlelight or the flow of your warmer for a few moments. Visualize your intention as a seed planted deep within fertile soil, nurtured by time and trust.

  1. Close the Ritual

When you are ready to extinguish the candle or turn the warmer off: Thank your tools, use a candle snuffer to put out the flame, blow it out gently or turn your warmer off. Then place your candle or melter somewhere you’ll see it daily. Keep your intention paper tucked in a journal or under your pillow.

TIP: When you are ready for a new intention and want to use the same candle, bury the intention paper (provided it’s biodegradable) in your yard away from your house. If that is not an option,  you can place it gently in your waste basket.

Affirmation

“I trust the darkness to hold and nurture my dreams.”

Your light begins in the dark.
